IACS members strive to achieve uniform application of the standards
in the service they render for ship classification and also in
statutory work undertaken on behalf of national Administrations.

QMS Requirements
Compliance with the QSCS is mandatory for Members and Associates.
The only quality management system certificate recognized for IACS Membership
is the IACS Quality Management System Certificate of Conformity.
The QSCS is operated by the IACS Quality Secretary, guided by the IACS Quality
Committee. The IACS Quality Committee consists of one representative of
each Member Society and reports directly to the IACS Council.
An External Advisory Committee has been established.
IACS activities are governed by the Code of Ethics and Charter.
